Week 37 of Pregnancy

Tomorrow will be the start of Week 37 of Natasha's Pregnancy! It's getting close to the time when we'll get to meet our Lil' Angel! We can't wait!

Natasha has certainly been "feelin' the pain" of her Trip into Motherhood, these past few dayz... We hope everything will be allright, and Petra will be born healthy.

Natasha visited the doctor's office three times, last week. She keeps thinking something is wrong with her pregnancy, but the doctors keep telling us everything is fine...

Natasha's co-workers and friends here in Orange, VA threw a Baby Shower for her last Saturday. It was very thoughtful of them. Everyone has been so nice to us, buying us and Petra so many presents. They've spent alot of money. We are thankful for all that you have done for us. It's a good feeling to know so many people care about you!

Well, I'll let you go.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Also, we've been busy "bringing our house into order..." Painting rooms and buying stuff for the house.

Take Care,

Kevin

Week 35 of Pregnancy!

Today, Natasha went to see our doctor. Everything is going smoothly. She weighs 143 pounds. (Before becoming pregnant, Natasha weighed 108 pounds). Our doctor said it's normal to gain 25 pounds during pregnancy.

We're busy bringing our house into order. We just got our couch today. Next week our new t.v. is supposed to show-up. We've ordered a crib, changing table, and dresser for Petra's baby room.

Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone. Natasha had a great Baby Shower! So many of our family and friends gave so many presents! We're very thank-ful for the money they spent and the time they took to create and buy all of these gifts for us and our little girl! Thank-you very much!

So, we're getting excited about the baby coming in a couple weeks.

Talk to you later,

Kevin

Almost Thanksgiving!

It's almost Thanksgiving, and I've been doing a really bad job at keeping this blog updated. I'm not sure if anyone is even looking at it anymore... I imagine everyone has given-up. (I know how you feel. There was a web blog that I was following, and when that person stopped writing, I felt like he was being really rude to me).

I guess I've just got a little tired of writing...

Natasha is still pregnant, and we're still busy buying stuff for our "nest."

Her belly is getting pretty big!

She's either 32 or 33 weeks along...

This week we're going home to Cincinnati, to visit our family. My sisters are throwing a Baby Shower for Natasha! We're really excited!

I'll upload some recent pictures.

Thanks for checking in.

Later.

What's Up?!?

What's Up?!?

Sorry for the long time in between posts... We've been really busy working on our house!

We bought some shelves, so I put those up in the "library."

We ordered a pretty big and expensive couch, with our own choice of fabric. But, we decided we should buy something we like, since we'll probably have it for a while...

I'm happy that Barack Obama got elected President. Maybe he'll do something good for our country...

My computer is broken, so I might lose alot of the pictures I had stored on the hard drive, we'll see.

We have satellite t.v. at our house, and internet, too.

We're really starting to settle-in.

I'm used to using the dishwasher, which I never thought I'd use. But, it is convenient to just turn it on, and leave for work. Then, when you get home all the dishes are clean and dry. Now, if they can make a machine that puts the clean dishes away for you...

I pulled the torn-up insulation off the walls in the basement, but all the insulation is just stored under the stairwell for now. (I wanted to put it up in the attic above the garage, but Natasha wouldn't let me)...

Pretty soon we'll be ready to invite people over to our house.

We moved out of our apartment with no problems. Thankfully our good friends Josh and Jennifer and Emily and Jeremy helped us. Natasha couldn't carry much of the heavy stuff...

We were smart not to move to far away. (It was easier to move all our stuff. How did we fit everything in two cars when we moved from Cincinnati?)

I wrote my last story for the football team this week. (Now I'm thinking about writing for the High School Wrestling Team)...

Allright, I'll stop for now.

I'll try to get some pictures on here, sometime soon.

Also, Natasha's parents got their "traveling passports," so I guess now they need VISAs and Airplane tickets, and they'll be ready to come and visit America!

Later,

Kevin

Busy Paintin'

We've just been busy paintin' our new house...
Natasha's sister-in-laws have decided to throw her a Baby Shower on the Saturday after Thanksgiving! So, we plan on driving to Cincinnati, and spend some time there... We bought a washer and dryer for the house. We need to start buying some furniture. And, our last day in our Apartment is October 31st!

PAY DAY!

It's PAY DAY!

Mom, Dad, Kiya, & Heidi's Visit to Virginia!

The past couple of days have been pretty hectic. Our mom and dad, and 2 of our nieces came to visit us! Is was really nice to have visitors down here in "God's Country." It's too bad that Natasha and I couldn't take-off from work... Next time, we will try to make better arrangements.

Here are some pictures...

Friday, October 3rd - Just Livin' the Life

It's Friday, October 3rd and it's been awhile since we posted anything on our blog. It's just been so busy. Everyday we've been either cleaning our new house, or going to bed early. But, last night I watched the Vice Presidential Debate. Two things stick with me, that both Candidates do not support gay marriages, how Sarah Palin kept trying to tell Joe Biden not to remember what has happened in America over the past 8 years.

I believe not learning from our past mistakes is a bad idea. Those who forget their past mistakes are destined to repeat those same mistakes.

The bottom line is I'm nto sure if I support Barack Obama 100%. But, I know I want to get a President as different as George Bush as possible. The only Candidate who has a chance to win, and is most different as George Bush - is Barack Obama.

I don't think Barack Obama can do any worse than George Bush. I don't think I could do any worse than George Bush.

Natasha's belly keeps gettin' bigger! I think she needs to eat even more, though...

Allright, I'll let you go.

Editorial

Today is Wednesday.

An editorial I wrote will be printed in tomorrow's Orange County newspaper!

I will attach a copy here.

Today, I "wired" the money for our house.

Tomorrow, Natasha and I will sit down with the lawyer, real estate agent, and mortgage lender to sign the paperwork.

Natasha had a doctor's appointment today. She gained 7 1/2 pounds in the past month. Her weight is 126 1/2.

Happy Birthday Kevin!

Today is my 30th birthday!

I didn't tell anyone at my work. But, Natasha brought a cake to my office, towards the end of the day. A few of my co-workers sang "Happy Birthday" to me!

Not much new around here.

We're supposed to buy our house next Wednesday, September 25th. Let's see how it goes...

Natasha is still taking her on-line college course, about working with students with disabilities. (It takes alot of our time - I help her do some of the research).

We told the Art Center that we needed some time off. With us buying the house, we're going to need to be spending our weekends cleaning it up.

Natasha's belly is getting bigger...

I'll let you go.

(I watched the program on Mad T.V. It wasnt' that good)...

Firday Night / Saturday Morning

It's Friday Night / Saturday Morning, and we need to go to bed.

Tomorrow, I'm going to meet with some other Barack Obama supporters in the center of Town, and go around and canvass for Barack for President.

This will be my second time canvassing in Orange. I canvassed once in Charlottesville, the weekend before the Democratic Primaries.

Tomorrow at 11:00pm on "fox television channel," there will be a really funny skit about the Presidential Candidates having a "Dance Off" competition. If you get a chance, try to remember to check-it-out!

Time's Still Flying

Time still seems to be going so fast for Natasha and I. It's hard for us to do everything we want to...
We both have our jobs. Add to that Natasha's school, the different nightly meetings I have every week, my sports reporting, our volunteering at the Art Center, Natasha preparing her lesson plans for her special edcuation students, cleaning the apartment, going shopping, plus adding time to relax and watch some movies, plus spending time out in nature (like fishing at the lake), plus trying to find time to do stuff with our friends (luckily we don't have too many), and we can't really imagine when we're going to have time for our expected blessing (our lil' Angel)...
Maybe, we're just trying to cram as much stuff as possible into these last few months of parental freedon, before the baby comes (and our real responsibilities begin).
The secret is controlling what you volunteer for. Doing a few things, but doing them as best as you can.
What's easier, haivng a baby - then trying to find time for "extra-curricular," or having a full-plate of hobbies, then trying to squeeze baby-responsibilities on top? I'm thinking it's easier to drop a few of my hobbies, once the baby comes.
I've been trying a few different things, and I'm learning what I enjoy most. But, really I'm enjoying all the things I do with my time. I'm lucky to not be tied-down to something that I can't stand...
Well, I guess I spoke enough about that point...

PERMIBUS ARRESTED!

How is this stroy connected to Natasha's pregnancy? This story is an example of the kind of world our child is being born into! At what point did the United States become a "controlled state"!?! Do you think the police could be better spending their time, resources, and energy arresting someone else besides educators of how to live in an "eco-friendly" manner?

http://ecovillagers.blogspot.com/2008/09/permi-news-from-rnc.html

"They were not allowed to remove their computers so the police could do a 'commercial vehicle inspection...'" (Why did the police need their computers, in order to conduct a 'commercial vehicle inspection?')

"Minnesota has always been a friendly place before today."

POLICE SEIZE PERMIBUS

At approximately 6:25 pm on August 30, 2008 Minneapolis Police, Minnesota State Troopers, Ramsey County Sheriffs, Saint Paul Police, and University of Minnesota Police pulled over the Earth Activist Training Permaculture Demonstration Bus (Permibus) by exit 237 on Interstate 94.
Initially the police told the people on the bus to exit. When the people on the bus asked if they were being detained they were told that they were but police were unable to provide justification. When asked why they pulled the bus over they refused to answer. After repeated requests to explain why the bus had been stopped Officer Honican of the Minneapolis Police explained that this was just a routine traffic stop though he did not explain the reason for the traffic stop.
The police then told Stan Wilson, the driver and registered owner of the Permibus, that they were going to impound the bus in case they wanted to execute a search warrant later. After more than an hour of being questioned by Stan and Delyla Wilson as to the legalities of their detainment and the impoundment of the Permibus, the police then informed Stan that the bus, which is legally registered as a passenger vehicle in the state of Montana, was being impounded for a commercial vehicle inspection. Shortly afterward Sergeant Paul Davis, a commercial vehicle inspector arrived on scene.
Despite the polices insistence that the reason for impoundment was for a commercial vehicle inspection the Permibus crew were not allowed to remove anything from the bus including computers, toiletries, and 17-year-old Megan Wilson's shoes.
The police finally allowed the animals to be removed from the Permibus before it was towed, leaving the Permibus family standing beside their chickens and dogs, homeless on the highway. The Permibus was relocating from the Bedlam Theatre in Minneapolis, where they had spent the day teaching Urban Permaculture, to a friend's house in Saint Paul for a well deserved break.
The Permibus has been in the Minneapolis area since August 2nd when the crew appeared at the Midtown Farmers Market for a morning of Permaculture education including Permaculture 101, chicken care, seed ball making for kids, and the Permi-puppet show.
During the past month the Permibus has parked at several local businesses and, as a neighborly gesture of respect for local police, Mr. Wilson contacted the appropriate precincts just to let them know the Permibus was in the area and had permission from the business owners to be parked on their lot. Through this, as well as other casual discussions with Minneapolis and Saint Paul police officers, the Permibus crew found the local police to be interested and respectful. However on August 30th all that changed when, for no apparent valid reason the police pulled over and seized the Permibus.
After the incident Stan Wilson said, "If the combined law enforcement of Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Ramsey County, and the State of Minnesota can pull over and impound a vehicle and home used to teach organic gardening and sustainability, one has to wonder what it is our government really fears. After all, we seek to teach people that the real meaning of homeland security is local food, fuel and energy production. For that we have had our lives stolen by government men with guns."
As of now, after repeated requests to be present at any vehicle inspection, with an list of what they are inspecting for, as well as requests to be served any warrants for searches of the vehicles prior to a search and to be present during the search the Permi-family has been unable to ascertain the current status of the Permibus. On site Mr. Wilson was told that Officer Palmerranky was the inspector in charge of the case and would determine if the Permi-family's rights protecting them from unreasonable search and seizure would be respected. Neither Officer Palmerranky nor his supervisor has yet to return Mr. Wilson's calls.
The loss of her home and possessions is particularly difficult on seventeen-year-old Megan Wilson. Megan, a shining example of what this country asks of today's youth, has dedicated herself to making positive changes in the world. She was the youth keynote speaker at the Local to Global conference in Phoenix AZ, has taught conflict resolution at youth shelters and is the outreach coordinator for the Skills for a New Millennium Tour, the family traveling educational project. Megan believes that, "While I understand that the world we live in is not as it should be I strive to live and teach in a way that shows the world how life could be. What I don't understand is why I can't get dressed for an evening out with friends in my own home without armed men stealing my life out from under me."
The Permi-family, along with their dogs and Permaculture super-hero chickens are currently being housed by folks in the Twin Cities.
The Skills for a New Millennium Tour is a family education project that travels around the United States teaching homesteading, citizenship, and life skills at farmers markets, community gardens, churches, intentional communities, schools, and in people's living rooms. The Skills Tour is a donation supported project dedicated to providing tools for sustainable living, including Permaculture, to anyone who is interested, regardless of income. "We believe that any solution that is not accessible to the poor and urban areas is not a real solution for the future," states Delyla Wilson.
Permaculture is a design system with ethics and principles that can be applied to food production, home design, and community building in order to increase sustainability in food production, energy production, and social systems. The Permibus is a rolling demonstration of small scale sustainable living with three people, three dogs, three chickens, and a box of worms as permanent residence. The chickens and worms are part of a closed-loop food productions composting system that supports the Permibus's traveling garden.

For more information on the seizure of the Permibus, the Skills for the New Millennium Tour, or Permaculture, the Wilson's can be reached at 406-721-8427 or through email at skillstour@gmail.com.
You can also see pictures and read stories about the last six months of their educational adventures at permibus.livejournal.com.
To our supporters: First we ask that as many people as possible contact precinct one in Minneapolis, MN at 612-673-5701 and Mayor Rybak at Phone: (612) 673-2100 or call 311 or call (612) 673-3000 outside Minneapolis.
Also call the Ramsey County Sheriff Sheriff - Bob Fletcher 651-266-9300 and demand the immediate release of the Permibus

Pictures from Sonogram / Ultrasound

I wanted to post some pictures from our visit to the Doctor's office - to have our first ultrasound / sonogram.

Our baby weighs 13 ounces and is 20 weeks old. (The Doctor said our baby is healthy and on target to be born on January 13th).

Natasha's set to go back in 4 weeks for an update.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Well, today we found out that it's a 90% chance (the doctor could be wrong) that we're having a GIRL!

Look-out, because I'm going to be a protective father... (We'll see how long that lasts)...

We're both happy and now Natasha can't wait to go shopping with our little princess!

Well, I'll post 2 of the ultrasound pictures.

Later, I'll post some of the pictures from the doctor's office.

Look Out Miss America! Here comes "Petra Anya!" (one of the potential names we're thinking to use).

Also, "Adelina" is another name we might choose.

We might end up waiting for our daughter to be born, and by looking at her, she might "choose her own name"...

Kevin's First Highschool Football Report!

Here is my first, much anticipated Highschool Football Report!

Don't ask me how I get wrapped-up in these things. That's just how my life is...

I saw an article in last week's newspaper asking for journalists. I sent an email and the Newspaper Editor decided to grant me this responsibility...

It's not like I'm reporting on Elder or Oak Hills or Moeller. I'm reporting on a Highschool that I don't know anything about. I don't know any of the history. Who the rivals are, etc.

But, I guess by the end of this season, if I don't get replaced, or I don't give-up, I will know all I need to about the Fighting Hornets of Orange County!

Wish me luck.

Still Volunteering!

We opened this week's newspaper and found an article which included a picture of us!
From the way things are going, you would think Natasha and I are the only ones doing "extra-curricular" work - here in the Town of Orange.
Besides us volunteering at the Art Center (as discussed in the newspaper article), I am 1 of the 5 Planning Commissioners for the Town, and now it looks like I'm going to be working as a "freelance" Sports Correspondent with the Orange County Review (the paper which included the story on us volunteering and my first Highschool Football Game Report - both in this week's paper)!

Let's see how long we can keep this up...

This weekend we're planning on going door-to-door here in Town trying to get people to vote for Barack Obama...
O.k., I'll include the volunteer article in this Post, and my first Highschool Football Report, in the following Post. (Keep in mind, the newspaper's editor took some much needed "liberties" with the incomplete story I had provided him with, on Sunday night. (I think in 2 weeks, when the first game of the regular season is held, I will be expected to write a more complete story)...

Busy Weekend!

This past weekend was even busier than others we've had.

Friday night we attended the Orange County High School vs. Madison High School Football Game. I am trying to become a writer for our local newspaper, the Orange County Review, so I sat next to the Paper's Editor, and learned how to take notes on a football game. (It really makes you pay closer attention to each play)...

Then, on Saturday, we went into Culpeper and did some shopping. While we were there, we stopped by the Barack Obama office to sign-up for Canvassing in Orange. While we were in the office, one of the Volunteers had us putting together pamphlets for Barack Obama. (I got the impression that they wanted to make us feel like we were "contributing," and they wanted us to realize that even little tasks are a big help, when alot of them are completed by alot of people)... Then, we came home and cleaned-up around the house, and Natasha worked on her Teaching Lesson Plans and her Online Class with University of Phoenix.

Then, on Sunday, we volunteered at the Arts Center in Orange. Then, Natasha worked more on her Lesson Plans and Online Class.

Now, today at 5:00pm, we're going to meet the Home Inspector and our Real Estate Agent - at our new house, and see more closely what it is we're buying...

Oh yeah, our little baby starting kicking inside Natasha's belly, a whole bunch, at the Football Game. Either we're going to have a Football Player or a Cheerleader...

Country Fried Home Videos!

Today I received a phone call from some producer with "Country Fried Home Videos."

He said they want to use the video of our wedding on their show!

He said they're going to pay us $500, for sure, then maybe we'll see if we are chosen as the funniest video, and maybe we'll receive more money!

When we find out the day and time of the show, we'll be sure to post it here, and let everyone know.

All winnings from our video will go to Natasha's parents, who are in the middle of remodeling their house...

In other news, we're moving closer to buying the house at 286 Parker Place!

The seller accepted our offer. We have agreed to a 30 year FHA Mortgage for $190,000 at 6.25 % - with a $6,000 down payment.

I have a home inspection scheduled for Monday at 5:00pm.

I ordered Home Insurance through Geico, for $313 a year.

Right now, a local lawyer is researching the title and deed to the house...

So, we'll keep you informed on that.

As for the baby, Natasha says she can feel the little one kicking, now and then. So, that's good.

Natasha completed her first full week as a Special Education Teacher for Orange County Public Schools. She enjoys her job, very much. She enjoys the respect she is given, because her job is more prestigious than before (changing diapers).

Also, Natasha started her on-line class, this week.

She is studying how to work with students with disabilities. I hope she passes.

That's it for now. Til' later, Kevin.

Happy 26th Birthday, Natasha!

Yesterday was Natasha's 26th birthday!

We had a party to celebrate on Saturday night.

It was pretty fun. I made Bar-B-Q sandwiches, and no one got sick - as far as I know. Though, I may still get sick, since I'm busy trying to eat all the leftovers, before it goes bad...

Now, we're busy - working on buying our home, and with Natasha starting "on-line classes" with University of Phoenix. (It's going to be hard for Natasha to concentrate and read all the different chapters and reports, for her class)...

One of these days I want to create a "List of Baby Names" for visitors to our website to vote on. Then, maybe we'll choose whichever name is most popular...

Allright, till' next time...

Friday, August 15, 2008

Friday is Here!

The past two days have been very busy, for both Natasha and I.

We've been working on a bunch of different things.

Natasha has been getting trained for her new teaching job, and I've been trying to get settled everything we need to do to buy our house.

Apparently the seller accepted our offer of $190,000, plus the seller pays up to $5,700 in closing costs.

Tomorrow, we will go to the Real Estate Agent to sign the "sales contract." Basically, this guarantees we will be buying this house, for this agreed upon price.

I met with a Mortgage Lender, today. She worked it out, so we will be paying 6.25% interest on an FHA Loan for $190,000. We need to pay around $5,000 to $6,000 for a down payment.

We still believe we're getting a "good deal" on this house. Our monthly payment is going to be a little under $1,500 a month. There's not much we can do about it. Hopefully Natasha and I will keep working, and we'll be able to make the payments on time.

Someday, down the road, we should be able to sell this house for a good price. So, we need to look at this as an "investment opportunity."

The day that we should be "taking ownership" of our house is scheduled for September 25th.

Wish us luck!

Time keeps ticking by...

Natasha and I seem to just be passing time...

The weeks seem to go by really fast. At least for me.

Natasha is busy starting her new job, as a Special Education Teacher for Orange County Schools.

I'm busy just trying to do my best at my job, as a Planner with Orange County Department of Community Development.
I'll try my best to keep this blog up-to-date.

Another Sunday - Another Day of Looking for a House to Buy...

We went looking for a house to buy, again, today.

We must be spoiled or something, because the only houses we seem to be interested in are the "brand new" ones!

But, we can't seem to get the idea out of our mind, that if we buy a nice big house, for a little less, now, that we'll be able to sell it for more, when we're ready to move - which will probably be in about 5 years...

Another reason, it seems like most of the little houses cost around $175,000 or $185,000. Why not pay $190,000 for a house that's like 2 or 3 times bigger, plus it's only a couple years old?

Well, we'll see how it all works-out...

Last night, we went shopping from like 8:00 pm to 11:45 pm. After an afternoon nap, we decided to go to Charlottesville, and take care of some shopping business.

Oh well, not much more.

Till' next time...

Day after Wedding Anniversary

Add Image

It's FRIDAY!

Yesterday, Natasha and I had a busy day - from the beginning to the end.

I surprsised Natasha at her "Teacher Training," by showing-up with some roses (and a magazine with Brad & Angelina's Babies)...

Then, after work we went to Charlottesville for dinner, then we ended-up in Barboursville, at a Shakesspear Play!

It was a really wonderful day, spent between best friends and partners-in-life...

We were exhausted when we went to bed, and now we start it all over again, on Friday.

Happy Anniversary! (4 years and still going strong!)

Tomorrow, August 7th, is mine and Natasha's 4-year Wedding Anniversary!

It's hard to believe 4 years have gone by, already...

I love my sweetheart more and more, everyday!

We're planning on going out for dinner, and we might go to some play, we'll see.

I would tell anyone out there, who's considering marriage, to go for it! It's not that bad. And, you'll always have someone looking out for you, sharing with you useful information, and cheering you on to "be the best you can be."

I love you, Natasha.

Love, Keva
