Almost 6 weeks Old

Jan. 14 + 7 = 21; +7 = 28; + 7 = Feb. 4 + 7 = 11; + 7 = 18; + 7 = 25.

So, it looks like tomorrow Petra will be 6 weeks old. Natasha and her mom took Petra to the doctor, today. She weighs like 10 lbs. 3 ozs. and is 23 inches long, I think.

Our Ukrainian parents have been with us for 1 week, now. They haven't really done much, except hang-out around the house. It's really too cold to do much. Last Saturday, Raya went shopping with Natasha. On Sunday, I took Volodymyr to Wal-Mart.

Basically, we're just laying low, and waiting for the weather to warm-up. I'd like to go on a camping trip.

Today was the first time Natasha and I left Petra at home, with her grandma and grandpa (Babusiya and Didyuc).

O.k., not much more to say. I'll upload some pictures...

4 weeks old

January 14 + 7 =21; + 7 = 28; + 7 = February 4; + 7 = 11

Today is February 12. So, Petra has been with us for 4 weeks, now. 1 month! Where does the time go? Petra's growing more and more each day... Natasha's feeding her sooo much!

We took Petra to the Pediatrician, for a check-up this past Monday. I think she weighed 9 pounds 3 or 4 ounces. The doctor said she's growing at the correct pace. About 0.43 ounces a day, or something. Anything more than 0.25 ounces is normal.

Petra's Ukrainian grandparents will be here in 5 days! They're flying in on Tuesday night! I'm not sure what to expect.

Allright, take care. I'm sad to see more people have not voted on when Petra will roll-over... Also, Petra still has not smiled. Is that normal? I think Natasha's dad is going to be the one to make Petra smile, for the first time.

Later,
Kevin

Petra in Paper

An announcement of Petra's birth was in the newspaper, this past Thursday. (I actually wrote the little excerpt)...

We spoke with Natasha's Mom, today. She's counting the days (about 10 or 11 until she touches down in Washington D.C.)...

3 Week Anniversary

Petra is 3 weeks old, today. Born January 14 + 7 = 21 + 7 = 28 + 7 = February 4.

As expected, she's getting bigger everyday. Alot of sleeping and eating, and going to the bathroom. She does some exercises every now and then, and she has some relaxing periods where she just looks around...

Natasha is still recovering from the delivery. I guess it takes some time for your body to return to normal - after something that was living and growing inside you for 9 months decides to exit all of a sudden...

So, Natasha's parents will be here in 13 days!!! I hope they have a wonderful experience, visitin' Amerika!

Later,

Kevin

2 Week Anniversary

I believe yesterday marked Petra's 2nd week on earth! She was born January 14 - so, plus 14 would equal January 28...

She's doing fine. And, Natasha's doing fine, too...

We're just living our lives. Trying to create a "schedule." It's sort of difficult, because I'm trying to think of the things I would like to get done, before our parents show-up, from Ukraine. (We want to paint the guest bedroom, and I would like to re-caulk our shower)... Stuff like that...

I'm getting ready to fill-out the form to send into the newspaper, to announce Petra's birth - to the world! (Like having this Blog didn't reach enough people already).

Our friends, and co-workers keep giving us presents! We need to keep track of who all gives us what, so we can send them "Thank-You" cards...

Well, Petra is getting smarter everyday. She doesn't cross her eyes as much...

I just remembered that I hadn't mentioned that we had visitors this past weekend. My Grandma Stenger, and my Aunt Janet, and my Mom, and my Sister Kara, and my little Niece - Heidi, and her Little Brother - Braden (1 month old) - all came down from Cincinnati to visit with us!!! It was alot of fun to host family in our new house! They helped out alot with Petra, since Natasha was feeling sick... We hope more family and friends will be able to make the trip down to Orange...

Take Care,

Kevin

Day 4

Our lil' sweet, angel Petra has been with us for 4 days, now! Four of the best days of our lives... (except for the pain Natasha feels each time she nurses Petra)...

We bought airplane tickets for our Ukrainian Parents. They'll be visiting us from February 17th to June 6th! We plan on atleast bringing them to Cincinnati for Easter. Maybe we'll make some more trips. They will help us by watching Petra when Natasha goes back to work, in 6 weeks.

Let's see, what else? Not much. Just trying to keep taking care of Petra.

Here's some more pictures:

Day 2

Day 2 and Petra is 100 times even cuter...

Natasha is healing from her delivery wounds. (some minor tearage).

I'm just relaxing. I don't think Natasha has changed any diapers, yet. But, it's pretty fair, because I haven't been nursing Petra.

If everything continues to progress as normal, then we should be going home tomorrow.

Petra's doing great!

I'll attach some more photos and video.

Later,

Kevin, Natasha, and Petra

P.S. - Thanks to everyone who has called or emailed Congratulations. I guess we're sort of busy, but we'll probably talk to everyone, eventually. Maybe if we wait until the weekend, we won't go over our "minute allowance"...
